Leading in Urban Regeneration

Urban regeneration is in LPC Living’s DNA, from our inception right through to the current day we have refurbished, rebuilt and regenerated,  breathing life back into unloved or forgotten locations and buildings. In 2006, Salford City Council and LPC Living entered into the Ordsall Development Framework (produced in 2004), securing a partnership commitment to regenerate an area totalling almost 73 hectares.

This partnership was formed following the completion of LPC’s Gresham Mill development off Ordsall Lane and effectively kick-started negotiations with Salford Council to further develop sites within the area. The masterplan is the result of years of planning and consultation with existing residents, community groups and award-winning architects, BPTW.

To date over 630 additional homes have been delivered under the framework agreement, in addition to the delivery of Radclyffe Park which has provided a new District Centre for the estate, a Travelodge hotel and health facilities including dentistry and an optician. Under the existing framework agreement, LPC Living estimates an additional 500 to 700 homes could be built.

Investments in infrastructure and improvements to Ordsall Hall, as well as the new Oasis Academy MediaCityUK school on Trafford Road, complement the LPC urban regeneration developments within the estate.

Regeneration activity has progressed at an astounding rate and the population of Ordsall ward has increased by 111 % over the period 2001 to 2011 (2011 National Census Data, provided by Office of National Statistics). Ordsall is now the fastest growing neighbourhood across the city. LPC Living is currently preparing designs for several other sites within the framework, which will further enhance Ordsall as an attractive place to live.

We have been presented with some prestigious awards for all the hard work we have done to date in Ordsall, these include the Silver Standard, Building for Life 2010 for Hulton Square, Best Starter Home, What House Awards 2008 for Radclyffe Mews and Best Development for First-Time Buyers, Your New Home Awards 2006 for Quay 5
